1)二者都可表示“对付，应付，处理，安排”，但deal是不及物动词，可与how连用；而do是及物动词，只与what连用表示上述意义，不能单独使用。对比：We don’t know what to do with the waste materials./We don’t know how to deal with the waste materials.

（此句中的deal with不可替换成do with）
2)deal with还可表示“论述，涉及到；与……相处”等意义，而do with 无此用法。如：
